Erich Hartmann
The next few displays are from my collection of Erich Hartmann
signed pieces. Hartmann was history's most successful ace and in his 850 aerial
combats he achieved an incredible 352 victories. He was one of only two fighter
pilots to break the 300 victory mark (Gerd Barkhorn was the other) and was one
of only 27 to receive the Knights Cross, Okleaves, Swords and Diamonds and one
of only 67 to receive the Pilot's Wings with Diamonds. Hartmann died in 1993.
Each of these signed items comes with a copy of one of the last published
interviews with Hartmann. A friend of mine was the author who did that
interview.

signed in silver pen. It pictures Hitler decorating Hartmann with Diamonds. $99.00
KC035 - Erich Hartmann with Mertens - This is a great photo of both
Hartmann and his mechanic, Heinz Mertens, in the cockpit of Hartmann's ME109.
Mertens was Hartmann's best friend. It is boldly signed with black pen.

Hartmann taken between the times he was awarded his Swords and the time he was
awarded his Diamonds. $99.00

private photo signed after he had received his Swords. $99.00
KC039 - Erich Hartmann Bookplate Signature - This display contains a
bookplate signature. The bookplate was obtained during an interview in the late
1980's to be affixed to limited edition copies of that interview. $49.00

preparing to take off on a mission. It is boldly signed with a black marker.

pictures four of Germany's top aces - Krupinski, Barkhorn, Wiese and Hartmann.
It is signed in silver ink by both Hartmann and Krupinski. $125.00

being greeted by friends after what we think is his 300th victory. He is
literally crying with joy after this victory. It is boldly signed in black ink.
