The Helene's Hotline
Service
For over 20 years I was
"Helene" of Helene's Hotline. My job was to find products and services
for those in the printing and graphic arts industry. In addition I created the
Hotline Database - a database of some 16,000 vendors and over
50,000 products and services. I provided these services through 3 national and
one regional trade journal.
In 2000 I retired as a
columnist and in 2001 I stopped doing updates to the Hotline Database.
In 2008 I was contacted by one
of my Hotline Database customers who had a totally different project. This
customer wanted to know if I could research information on the best way for him
to become certified as a "process server." I told him I had never done anything
like that, but there is a common thread in all types of research and I believed
I had the tools and experience to fulfill his requirement. I took the assignment
and was able to provide the information he was looking for.
A few months later another
individual wanted some tips on how to get a home business started - one that did
not require much money to get started. I had no problem providing him the
details on several different possibilities.
I decided that it was time to
re-invent Helene's Hotline.
Today I offer research service
in virtually any area. If you are looking for a particular product or service;
need someone to help you research material for a book or publication; want to
know how to tumble and polish stones or any other how-to project, etc. Perhaps I
can help.
My rate is $10 per hour with a
$10 minimum. Many inquiries can be completed in the one hour minimum. Some may
take substantially more time. Turn around on most projects is less than 48
hours.
All I need to get started is a
complete description of what your project is and what part of that project you
need help with. I will also need your location and contact information.
Acceptable forms of payment
are MasterCard, Visa, Discover, AmEx, or PayPal.
My contact info is at the
bottom of this page.
