Removing Win7 Antispyware 2012 virus Thewin7 antispyware 2012 virus can cause a huge amount of trouble – controlling your computer, not letting you open applications, etc. I spent several days before finally calling the developer of my virus software. You will find other recommendations and services that claim to remove this virus, but the services were expensive and the recommendations were difficult to understand and I could not get any to work. This method is simple and it works. The first thing to do is to go to control panel/restore. Open restore and reset your computer to an earlier date. I reset mine to 8 days earlier. That gave me control of my computer again. But, after doing that I had to check if the virus was still there-just temporarily dormant. To check to see if the virus is actually gone, do the following: Open the “run” command by pressing the “windows key” and then press “r” In the run box type “control.exe folders” Choose the “view” tab Find where it says “show all hidden files, folders & drives” and click the circle next to it. Go to “my computer” and open the C: drive Open “users” Open whatever username you are logged on as Iin my case it was cy's system) Look for an open the folder named “appdata” Open “local” Scroll down past all of the folders and look for any applications in there. They are usually named some kind of random 3-letter name – like “iki.exe” If you find any of these files, delete them. If it doesn’t let you delete it (them) you will have to open the “task manager”, find the process with the same name and kill it there. In my case, restoring my system to an earlier date removed the virus
